YouTube titles and descriptions

YouTube is the one network where the caption is not the whole story — it needs a title too, and that lives in its own field.
Where the fields are
Section titled “Where the fields are”Select a YouTube account, then open the YouTube tab under Native versions per network:
- Video title — the title on YouTube. YouTube caps it at 100 characters; aim for under 60 so it is not truncated in search and suggestions.
- YouTube type — Short or Video. See Publishing as a Short.
- Version for YouTube — becomes the video description. Leave it empty and the Default caption is used.
Description length
Section titled “Description length”YouTube accepts up to 5,000 characters, and the composer counts against that. The first ~125 characters are what shows in search results and above the fold on the watch page, so put the substance there and the links, hashtags and boilerplate underneath.
Cover image
Section titled “Cover image”You can set a custom thumbnail on the post — either a frame grabbed from the video or an image you upload. See Cover images for videos.
If the title is missing
Section titled “If the title is missing”YouTube will not accept an upload without a title, so Postbean blocks the publish and tells you which network is missing what, rather than failing the post halfway through.
