Can I link a Short to a long-form video?

No — and not because of Postbean. YouTube’s Data API does not expose the field that links a Short to a related long-form video, so no third-party tool can set it. It has to be done by hand in YouTube Studio after the Short is up.
Doing it by hand
Section titled “Doing it by hand”Publish the Short from Postbean as usual, then in YouTube Studio open the Short and add the related video there.
Workarounds that do work from Postbean
Section titled “Workarounds that do work from Postbean”- Mention the long-form video in the description — the YouTube tab’s caption becomes the description, so you can drop the link in there when you schedule it.
- Use the same hashtags across the Short and the long video so they surface together.
- End the Short with a call to action pointing at the channel or the full video.
If YouTube ever opens the field up, it is a small change on our side; the limitation is entirely theirs.
