Cover images for videos
A video post can carry a cover image, and Postbean uses it wherever the network accepts one.
Setting a cover
Section titled “Setting a cover”Attach your video in the composer, then use Set cover image on the video. The dialog gives you two routes:
- Pick a frame — scrub the video and capture the current frame.
- Upload an image — any JPG, PNG or WebP up to 8 MB.
Uploading your own image is the one to use when you want text or a designed thumbnail; a frame from the video will never give you that.
Some videos block frame capture in the browser. When that happens the dialog says so and you upload an image instead.
Where the cover ends up

YouTube’s verification requirement
Section titled “YouTube’s verification requirement”Custom thumbnails on YouTube require a verified channel. If yours is not verified, YouTube rejects the thumbnail — Postbean uploads the video anyway and logs the thumbnail failure rather than marking the whole post failed, so you get the video with YouTube’s auto-generated thumbnail.
Verifying a channel takes a phone number and a few minutes, in YouTube Studio under Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility.
