Instagram carousels are limited to 10 photos

Instagram’s publishing API accepts a maximum of 10 items in a carousel. That is Instagram’s limit, and it applies to every tool that publishes through their API.

Postbean lets you attach up to 35 pieces of media to a post, because other networks accept more. When that post publishes to Instagram, only the first 10 are included, in the order you arranged them.

The rest still publish wherever the network allows it — Threads takes up to 20, LinkedIn and Facebook take multi-image posts — so a single post can be a 12-image carousel on Threads and the first 10 of those on Instagram.

Split it into more than one post. Two carousels of 8 read better than one of 16 anyway, and you can schedule them a day apart from the calendar.

Drag the images in the composer before publishing. The first image is the cover in the feed and, on Instagram, it also sets the aspect ratio the rest are fitted to — see Instagram aspect ratios.
