Posting videos to Bluesky

Postbean publishes Bluesky videos through Bluesky’s own video service (video.bsky.app), then attaches the processed blob to the post. The post is not created until that blob is ready, so your feed never shows a text-only stub where a video should be.

What is supported

• One MP4 per post. Bluesky does not mix video and images on the same post — if both are attached, the video wins.
• Up to 100 MB, which is Postbean’s upload cap for video.
• Bluesky caps duration at around 3 minutes and requires a verified email on the Bluesky account before it will accept video at all.

Limits to know

• The daily video quota is Bluesky’s, not Postbean’s — roughly 25 videos or 10 GB per day.
• MOV/QuickTime files may be rejected by Bluesky. Export as MP4 (H.264) before uploading.
• If processing fails on Bluesky’s side, the Bluesky target is marked failed. Postbean will not publish the caption without the video.

Images on Bluesky

Bluesky posts in Postbean carry a single image. If your post has a gallery, the first image is the one that goes to Bluesky; the rest still publish as a carousel everywhere that supports one.

First comment

A first comment is posted as a Bluesky reply right after the main post, the same as it works for text and image posts.
