How Postbean connects to your social accounts
Postbean authenticates every platform through official OAuth. You never hand us your password, and we never see or store it — you’re redirected to each network’s own login screen, where you approve the requested permissions. Postbean only keeps the resulting access token (encrypted) needed to publish on your behalf.
- Only official platform APIs are used — no scraping, no unofficial workarounds.
- Only the permissions required to publish posts and read basic metrics are requested.
- You can revoke access at any time, either from Postbean (Connections,
/panel/connections) or directly from the social network itself. - Deleting your account removes every stored token as well (see Data deletion).
Connecting Instagram
Section titled “Connecting Instagram”Requirements:
- The Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account (personal accounts aren’t supported).
- If you connect through Facebook, the Instagram account needs to be linked to a Facebook Page.
Steps:
- From the dashboard, choose Connect Instagram.
- Pick either Instagram login or Facebook login.
- Authenticate and leave every requested permission enabled on the authorization screen.
- Select the account(s) to connect and confirm.
Notes:
- Switching an account to Business/Creator can take a few minutes to take effect.
- If an account doesn’t show up, double-check its account type and its link to a Facebook Page.
